This vintage 1970s Biba suit is a classic example of British boutique fashion designed by Barbara Hulanicki. The garment features the brand's iconic silhouette, characterized by an exaggerated pointed collar, shaowd padded shoulders , a fitted tailored bodice, and dramatically gathered balloon sleeves ending in tight cuffs and is complemented with a matching A line midi length skirt which has back zip and hook and eye fastening.
The moody color palette—muted purple, lavender, and grey floral patterns printed on a charcoal black brushed cotton/wool mix mid weight fabric —typifies the dark, romantic aesthetic that defined the legendary Biba label during its peak era.
Was sold from Big Biba (the old Derry and Tom's building on High Street Kensington- London) Lolita department which sold pieces for young ladies in their teenage years
In good vintage condition.
Please read description below of damage
Slight fade throughout on the fabric and theres several "ladders" in the fabric which arent holes and could be coloured in with a grey fabric pen. - as shown
Is missing one button on each cuff (there should be two) but easy to add plain black ones
Has been repaired on the collar and im not 100% positive if it has been altered slightly.
A couple of holes on the collar but these arent too obvious and also a small hole on the seam under the armpits. Theres also stitching missing on the seam at the back (as shown) which is an easy repair.
Is totally wearable as is!
Is XXS - I would say for age 10 approx but please see measurements. The label is too faded to read size.
